+ This is the second "loss" for the American side, after the Thai court denied the US's request for
Viktor Bout's extradition last year.

- Viktor goes back to the barely-livable conditions of the Klong Prem Prison. While the Thai officers working there are always kind and helpful, the conditions on the inside are undesirable. It is unknown how long the appeal court will deliberate, but they should issue an indication a month before the decision is to be made. My own estimate is that it will be another 3-5 months before we hear anything again.

As I again review the reports from the mass media, the
official indictment from the US District Court, and even watch the
Lord of War movie again (guilty as charged!), I am still suprised at how he has become the
only person charged with these crimes.
